2021 RECAP
OVERALL 30-4 (10-0 District)
HEAD COACH: Jesse Cassard
Live Oak High school took home Class 5A – District 4 champions and earned the #3 overall seed in the 5A State Playoff Bracket. Unfortunately Live Oak made an early exit in the first round with an upset to Ouachita Parish. That was not before a season to remember by a core senior group in 2021.
Key victories for the Eagles in 2021:
- 7-3 Opening Day win over John Curtis Christian
- 14-4 win over Sulphur
- 2-game series sweep over Catholic-BR
- Sweeping entire district consisting of Walker, Zachary, Denham Springs, Scotlandville, and Central-BR.
2022 PREVIEW
With 2021 in the rearview mirror, Live Oak has some unfinished business. Look for the Eagles to come out of the gates at their best and show us they are the team to beat in 5A. This loaded lineup will be fun to watch from top to bottom. Season starts off February 21st with John Curtis at home.
Key Losses from last year for Live Oak are Brant Smith and Blaise Priester, but depth was big last year and a great core of returners are back — including Cameron Christ (2021 2D All-Star Game participant) and added youngsters Brock Davis (2025), Jude Weller (2025), and Cooper Smith (2025) (2022 ASG Combine Invitees) are looking to break into the lineup.
